In the Fall, APET participates in the bi-annual Highway 80 Sale, the longest yard sale in the world!!! During this event in October, we sell Christmas items at our big green barn by our animal center. Don't miss out on some great Christmas deals! The location is 2 miles west of downtown Mineola on Highway 80, across the street from Mineola Scrapmetal.

Except for the cold Winter months, APET holds monthly adoption events either in Mineola or surrounding Wood County cities. In Mineola, we often hold events at Tractor Supply Company on Hwy 69 S, and sometimes at Sears on Loop 564. We also hold events in Winnsboro at the Tri-County Feed Store or TSC there. We are also known to hold adoption events in Tyler at places like PetSmart. For the past several years, we have participated in the Dogtoberfest (Petapalooza) in Tyler's Gander Mountain parking lot. Check back soon for scheduled events, or call the animal center at 903-638-6902.

Other October Events

APET SPCA is participating in the Golden Sweet Potato Festival (Oct 28th, 2017) in serveral different ways. There will be an information booth set up with animals for adoption and to answer questions about our organization thoughtout the day.

We also have the privilege of "stage time" at the pavillion. This is where the public will have some fun, see some cute community animals, and a scattering of APET animals. Contests will include Junior Handler (ages 7-15 years), Best Costume, Look-Alike (owner or celebrity), and Fastest Sit (plays like cake walk). Prizes will be awarded in each category. The registration form can be found on our home page.  If you are unable to pre-register, come by our tent at the festival to sign up. It is Halloween weekend!!  So put on your creative thinking caps and be a winner. This will be fun for the entire family.

Operating an animal center is a very costly endeavor and our volunteers work hard to put together the annual "Pedal for Paws" bicycle rally. See link "MPP Pedal for Paws" for more information.
