Why Become A Member

Our membership program is one of our principle avenues to capture funding for our operating initiatives. APET SPCA is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization. Our current focus is on offering animals of Wood County a seccond chance. The animal center takes in strays and owner surrendered cats and dogs.  We do charge a surrender fee and also an adoption fee, but this doesn't cover the cost of the day-to-day care, spay/neuter and innoculation of the animals. We no longer have funding for the spay and neuter program, but are working to secure a partner. In the meantime, we are operating at full capacity for housing and vetting our shelter animals.

We have come so far, but there is much more work to be done!  We would like to expand into responsible pet ownership education in local schools, work with city and county officials to address animal control issues (animal dumping is a major problem in the area), and continue to educate our citizens through public speaking engagements and participation in local events

Our animal center is open and headed into our 5th year of operation. But in order to continue moving forward,  WE NEED your help...

GIVING ANIMALS A NEW LEASH ON LIFE.

Another way to help APET is by donating quality items to our thrift store. We don't have room to accept clothing, but all other gently used items are welcome and appreciated. Call the thrift store at 903-569-1250, or come by during hours of operation.

Please join us in helping make our community a better place for all to live and with our goal to give every healthy unwanted animal a New Leash On Life.  Thank you in advance for your consideration and support.
